I have seen many installs of Audio Video Systems. One option is the Video Leads via HDMI or Component Video Cables through the A/V receiver, then back out to the Monitor/Television.
I am under the impression the direct link from incoming source to viewing or audio component has less resistance due to less connections, and the results are cleaner video and audio.
But many Satellite and Cable hookups are sent to the A/V receiver first. I understand the control factor, and one remote ease of use; but how about the quality of the signal? What is the optimum hookup for the highest fidelity?
I understand also, that the higher quality A/V receivers may handle the connection better than a lower end consumer model. Still to me, more connections equals a poor signal compared to a direct connection.
I have intermediate knowledge in this field, so please, novice installers and novice opinionated need not answer this question unless you’ve better sources than I do.
The uploaded video appears on the homepage, but when I tried to bulletin it, receivers get an error message. I looked at the video tab and it said the video is being processed. Will I have to re-bulletin the video after it has been processed, or will the prior bulletins no longer receive error messages?
I’m looking for an HDMI Receiver that can take HDMI inputs from my PC, Blu-Ray player, and possilby other sources and separately output HDMI video to a display and 7.1 audio to the surround sound system. I see lots of receivers that have HDMI support, but I haven’t found any that do exactly what I want. I don’t know if they even exist. The PC has HDMI output with Video and Audio in a single cable. It then needs to go to the receiver which passes the video to the TV and the Audio goes out to the Surround Sound system. The same needs to be true with the DVD/Blu-Ray player. Any ideas?
You aren’t getting it. That’s what I’m trying to avoid. I don’t want to run a separate cable for Audio and Video. In response to the first answer, I only want one HDMI output. I want the receiver to do the switching so the TV stays on the same channel, and the Receiver switches video/ audio feed between input sources. Most of them do like you said, and just passively pass the a/v through. I’m looking for a specific make/model that you can show me as an example, if possible. Thanks.
I was wondering since the ends look the same,if there would be any harm or difference if I used component cables as output from my cable box L-R audio and video and into my receivers L-R audio and video inputs? From there it would be output via HDMI into my HDTV’s HDMI’s input?
