I own an STR-DA2400ES Sony Multi Channel AV Receiver. I am trying to listen to music from my PS3 (HDMI through the receiver) and watch TV (direct from cable box to TV). When I change the channel from the HDMI input to a channel on the tv the audio quits. I want to continue to hear the music while I watch television. Is this possible?
I have a Sony receiver STR-DG510. I was playing music through the receiver when it suddenly stopped and displayed/flashed PROTECT. After unplugging everything and trying a different power outlet, it still flashed PROTECT. Doing some research I found that this means there is a short somewhere in the circuitry. I opened the case and found that with one of the cords running to the digital board unplugged, PROTECT no longer flashed when the unit was turned on. However, I could not get any audio to come out of the speakers or headphones. So my question is, could the digital board be the root of my problem or is it more likely something bigger. The unplugged cord is CNP504/CNP505.

Looks weird.
We have a sky receiver so don’t need the tv signal. There is a tv/video switch, can i fiddle with that so it will always be on video signal? Its annoying to have to switch it over each time tv is turned on.
